UFCW 700 Files Class Action Grievance Against Kroger

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Your Union is aware that Kroger has failed to timely implement the wage increases and retroactive pay required under the new contract. This is unacceptable.

In response, Local 700 has filed a class action grievance on behalf of all affected members. Through this grievance, we are seeking make whole remedies and additional damages. The Union has also filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board to hold Kroger accountable for failing to meet its legal and contractual obligations.

While the law does not allow us to strike under these circumstances, we will not remain silent. Union representatives will be handbilling customers at Kroger stores to inform the public that Kroger has failed to pay its workers as promised. Together, we will ensure the community knows the truth.

A union is only as strong as its membership. We encourage you to contact your area representative to learn how you can participate in this campaign and get more involved. Your voice and your action make us stronger.

Solidarity is not just a word, it is our strength. By standing together, we will hold Kroger accountable and ensure that every worker receives the pay and respect they have earned.

In solidarity,
Tracy Bartak
President, UFCW Local 700
