Kroger Indy Aug. 14 Update – New TA Reached

A tentative agreement was reached yesterday that includes lowering the minimum hour requirement for progression from Step 1 to Step 2 and providing retroactive pay dating back to June 1, 2025. Below, you’ll find more information about the new language and next steps for voting on this agreement. Click here to read the full tentative agreement.

Retro Pay vs. Kroger’s $200 Gift Card

First, we want to be clear that the ‘proposal to eliminate the gift card proposal in favor of offering retroactive pay’ was a direct result of your feedback– from the member survey, the town hall, and conversations with your reps in the stores– all of which was communicated back to the company by your union bargaining committee. Because you made your voices heard that you are willing to fight for the wages you have earned, the current tentative agreement replaces Kroger’s gift card with retroactive pay starting from June 1, 2025.

Step Progression and Minimum Hours Requirement

The tentative agreement also allows those who have worked an average of 27 hours between 10/6/24 and 8/2/25 to progress from Step 1 to Step 2, moving several hundred workers into the next wage bracket, and includes previously proposed language to help workers maximize hours by letting you view and sign up for open shifts in your store and surrounding stores.

Voting Information and Accessing the Tentative Agreement

Voting will take place next Tuesday, August 19th, and Wednesday, August 20th. We will send out voting times for each store later this week. In the meantime, you can review the full tentative agreement here.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your union rep, reply to this email, or fill out the member feedback survey. We are committed to addressing as many of your questions as possible and want to make sure you have the details you need to make an informed vote.

Next Steps

Your union representatives along with UFCW reps from across the country will continue visiting stores to provide more information, answer questions, and make sure you’re signed up for text alerts and email updates, so that we can better communicate the terms of the agreement and how to vote on your contract.

As always, this is your contract and your decision and we want to make sure all members have the opportunity to ask questions and fully understand the agreement before they vote on it.

Thank you for your engagement throughout this process.

In solidarity,Tracy Bartak
President, UFCW Local 700
