Victory! Kroger Ends the Retail Odyssey DSD Program

Kroger has announced this is the final week they use Retail Odyssey for DSD (Direct story delivery) work in stores.

Kroger has used DSD vendors for years, but the more recent addition of Retail Odyssey has caused issues for customers and workers alike and was the subject of numerous grievances filed on behalf of Local 700 members, and this is a victory for UFCW Local 700 members.

UFCW Local 700 President Tracy Bartak made the following statement in response:

“The Retail Odyssey DSD program was very frustrating for the Membership and the source of numerous grievances and customer complaints and today we successfully defeated it. UFCW Local 700 has consistently maintained that our objective is to keep store shelves stocked and to have our members doing that work – not additional outside contractors. We welcome the end of this program and we look forward to our members having the opportunity to earn more hours and keep Kroger stores fully stocked and functioning.”
