UFCW700 Extends Union Scholarship Deadline

UFCW Local 700 proudly awards $22,000 per year in scholarships to members or dependents.

Applicants must be UFCW Local 700 members in good standing, or their legal dependents; have graduated or will graduate from high school or are currently enrolled in college or trade school; must have completed the SAT or ACT; and must be accepted to an accredited institution OR met the requirements and enrolled in a two-year community college, technical, or trade school.

Twice a year, we award $11,000 in scholarships: Five at $1,000 each and twelve at $500 each.

UFCW Local 700 Members Approve New Indianapolis Kroger Contract

Members of UFCW Local 700 have approved a new three-year contract with Kroger; the proposed contract covers more than 8,000 workers at 68 stores in Central Indiana. The count was 1892 voting yes – 1243 voting no.

The new contract:

  • Guarantees pay raises over the life of the contract
  • Increases starting pay rates and premium pay
  • Provides lump-sum compensation for top-rated and grandfathered workers, and Department Heads
  • Protects quality, affordable health care for members and your families
  • Improves health care benefits
  • Secures and expands pension benefits
  • Strengthens contract language

Union Announces Indianapolis Kroger Contract Vote Schedule

Negotiating Committee Members and Union Representatives will be in stores to discuss details of the proposed contract and answer questions. Contract voting will take place from Wednesday, July 13, through Friday, July 15. 

Your Union Negotiating Committee, Officers, and Staff recommend a YES VOTE TO APPROVE the proposed contract.

Only union members may vote on the contract. You may vote in the time and location most convenient for you.

UFCW Local 700, Kroger Reach Tentative Agreement for Indianapolis Contract

Your UFCW Local 700 Union Negotiating Committee is proud to announce that we’ve reached a tentative agreement with Kroger for a new, three-year contract; the proposed contract covers more than 8,000 workers at 68 stores  in Central Indiana.

YOUR UNION NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE, OFFICERS, AND STAFF RECOMMEND A YES VOTE TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED CONTRACT.

The new contract includes:

  • Guaranteed pay raises and ratification bonuses
    • Pay raises are retroactive to June 19, 2022, and in addition to the $.30-$2.50 increases that took effect in October 2021
  • Affordable, quality health care for you and your families
    • Weekly co-premium will increase by only $1 per week in 2025
  • Retirement security through UFCW Consolidated Pension and VAPP plans
    • Defined benefit pension extended to a new group of workers
  • Language improvements include better provisions for earning holidays and holiday pay, greater flexibility for vacation, and stronger non-discrimination language

Union Representatives and Negotiating Committee Members will be in stores to discuss details of the proposed contract and answer questions. Voting will take place from July 13 – July 15.

UFCW Local 700 – Kroger Continue Indianapolis Contract Negotiations

Your UFCW Local 700 Negotiating Committee met with Kroger representatives to bargain the Indianapolis contract, which covers more than 8,000 workers at 68 stores in Central Indiana. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) is continuing to assist with negotiations.

Both sides discussed their priorities and concerns; over the next few days, your Union Negotiating Committee will evaluate, cost, and assess the latest proposal.

Employees continue working under the current terms and conditions of the contract, which is extended through July 15, 2022.

UFCW Local 700 – Kroger Continue Indianapolis Contract Negotiations

Your UFCW Local 700 Negotiating Committee met with Kroger representatives to continue bargaining for the Indianapolis contract, which covers more than 8,000 workers at 68 stores in Central Indiana.

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) was present again for today’s session. The Negotiating Committee and company representatives continued to discuss and evaluate proposals and are working to reach a new agreement.

The Union and company have agreed to an additional 30-day contract extension through July 15. Employees continue working under the current terms and conditions of the contract.

The parties are scheduled to meet again on Thursday, June 30; FMCS will also be assisting in those negotiations.

Your UFCW Local 700 Negotiating Committee met with Kroger representatives to continue bargaining for the Indianapolis contract, which covers more than 8,000 workers at 68 stores in Central Indiana.

We are scheduled to reconvene this Wednesday, June 15. Your Union Negotiating Committee is continuing to evaluate, cost, and assess additional proposals. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) was present for today’s discussions and will also join us on Wednesday.

Employees continue working under the current terms and conditions of the contract.

Your Union Negotiating Committee will meet with company representatives on June 13 and June 15 for additional contract negotiations. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) will also be present.

Employees continue working under the current terms and conditions of the contract.
